Chioma

How It All Began…
I joined the Nigerian Red Cross Society in November 2023, not because I planned to be an active member, but because I wanted to enjoy some benefits during NYSC camp, especially getting a good PPA. 😂 As a sharp girl who doesn't like stress, I registered in my church before registering for NYSC. Little did I know that God had a bigger plan for me!

I eventually fell in love with the society, remained a member even after my service year, and became one of the executive members. 🤭❤️

Fast-forward to June 2025, I met my father-in-law for the first time during our Red Cross meeting. Unknown to me, he was our Commandant's father! After the meeting, I noticed he was still around, so I informed our Commandant, not knowing who he was. My Commandant smiled and said, "That's my father!" I was stunned! As the man came closer, he looked at me and said, "I will marry you!" 😳😂 Before I could recover from the shock, he repeated, "I will marry you for my last born." He asked for my name and where I was from. When I told him I was from Imo State, he excitedly called his son and asked about me. His son, my Commandant, quickly assured him that I was a good girl from a reputable family and that he had made me his secretary because he admired my character.

When I got home, I told my mum, "Mummy, I don marry husband oo!" 😂❤️ We laughed about it and moved on, not knowing that it was the beginning of something beautiful.

Fast-forward to September 2025. My Commandant had been trying to arrange a meeting with me, but I kept postponing because I was busy with work and preparations for my late grandma's burial. Continue to rest peacefully, Grandma. 🥺❤️ When we finally met, he asked for my permission to give my number to his brother, regardless of my relationship status then. At first, I hesitated, but then I thought, "Is it not just a phone number? If it doesn't work, I can always cut it off!" 😂 So, I agreed. He advised me to pray about it and trust God to lead us if it was His will. Two days later, on that faithful morning, Nnam called me, and that was how our love journey officially began. ❤️ In November, he came around for his brother's baby's dedication and decided to surprise me without telling me he was coming. 😂 After church, I went home to prepare Sunday lunch before returning to his brother's house for the celebration. When I arrived, I was looking for his wife and baby so I could greet them. His brother noticed and asked if I was looking for his wife. When I said yes, he pointed towards a closed door and told me to go inside. I opened the door, and guess who I saw? 🙈❤️ NNAM! I was so shocked that I wished the ground would open up and swallow me so I could compose myself before coming back out. 😂

He immediately stood up, gave me the warmest and longest hug ever, and kept admiring me. From the very beginning, his intentions were clear, and as we got to know each other, we realised that what we had was special. Looking back, I can only smile because what started as an ordinary decision to join the Red Cross became God's way of leading me to my husband. Indeed, God was putting everything in place long before we understood His plans. 🥹❤️ And now, we can't wait to say "I DO" and begin our forever together! “He has made everything beautiful in His time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11 ❤️💍

HIS STORY

In January 2024, I travelled to the village to celebrate Christmas with my parents. I bought wine and kola nuts and asked my father to pray for me, that the year would not pass me by without finding the woman God had prepared for me. After the prayer, I told God that it was my year to find my missing rib. I didn't know how it would happen, but I had faith that He would make it happen. ❤️🙏🏽

At the time, I was in a relationship with a colleague, but we didn't share the same vision for marriage. I knew I wanted something serious, and eventually, I had to accept that it wasn't what God had planned for me.

Meanwhile, my father kept telling me about a beautiful lady he had met at church in Delta State during one of his visits for medical treatment. Her name was Chioma, my honeybee! ❣️ He told me about her background, education, and family. The only thing that made me hesitate was that she was from Imo State, a place I had previously said I wouldn't want to marry from. 😂 But somehow, something in my spirit kept drawing me to her.

On the night of 27th September 2025, I called my elder brother to ask about Chioma. I told him that despite my reservations, I felt there might be something special about her, and if it was God's will, who was I to question it? The following day, my brother got her permission and gave me her number. I called her the next day, and that was how our love story began. ❤️

As we continued talking and getting to know each other, she told me she had a boyfriend. I felt disappointed, but I held on to my faith and trusted God with the outcome.

When her birthday came on 30th October, I wished I could be there with her, but work wouldn't allow it. Fortunately, my brother's son's dedication came up in the first week of November, and I seized the opportunity to surprise her. The moment I set my eyes on her that Sunday, I was in awe. God, she was beautiful! 🥹❤️

I couldn't help but thank God for blessing me with my honeybee because she was everything I had prayed for. As we spent more time together and got to know each other better, I became certain that she was the woman God had prepared for me. I told her I was going to make her my wife, but she thought I was joking. 😂❤️

Today, I look back and see God's hand in every step of our journey. What started with a prayer has become a beautiful reality, and now, I can't wait to say "I DO" to the absolute love of my life.

Together

What started as an ordinary journey with the Nigerian Red Cross became the beginning of our forever. While I, Chioma unknowingly crossed paths with my future father-in-law, he was praying for his missing rib. Through God's perfect timing, our paths crossed, and our love story began in September 2025. ❤️

From our first conversations to our first meeting, everything felt beautifully orchestrated by God. Today, we look back with grateful hearts, knowing that what began with a prayer has become a testimony of love.
